⚑ ONGOING PROJECT
→ PROJEKTOR is a digital and spatial archive project at Berlin Weißensee School of Art that makes the university’s artistic and design heritage visible, accessible, and alive. Works of art, design, and architecture created over decades—from sculptures and murals, furniture and objects to performances and temporary installations—are documented, contextualised, and connected to their stories, creators, and contexts of origin.
Through a hybrid system combining a public online archive, QR-coded plaques across the campus, exhibitions, guided tours, and educational formats, PROJEKTOR connects physical presence with digital exploration.
The project creates new ways of accessing art and design, making hidden artistic traces tangible for students, faculty, and the wider public. It strengthens identification with the institution and invites discussion and further research.
PROJEKTOR understands the art school as a living organism of cultural production—a place where past, present, and future enter into dialogue. As an open and expandable model project, it creates a sustainable infrastructure for cultural education, knowledge sharing, and public participation.

PROJEKTOR ist ein digitales und räumliches Archivprojekt der Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee, das das künstlerische und gestalterische Erbe der Hochschule sichtbar, zugänglich und lebendig macht. Über Jahrzehnte entstandene Werke aus Kunst, Design und Architektur – von Skulpturen und Wandarbeiten, Möbeln und Objekten bis hin zu Performances und temporären Installationen – werden dokumentiert, kontextualisiert und mit ihren Geschichten, Urheber*innen und Entstehungszusammenhängen verknüpft.
Durch ein hybrides System aus öffentlichem Online-Archiv, QR-codierten Plaketten im Campusraum, Ausstellungen, Führungen und Vermittlungsformaten verbindet PROJEKTOR analoge Präsenz mit digitaler Vertiefung.
Das Projekt schafft neue Zugänge zu Kunst und Gestaltung und macht verborgene künstlerische Spuren für Studierende, Lehrende und die Öffentlichkeit erfahrbar. Das Projekt stärkt die institutionelle Identifikation mit der Hochschule und lädt zum Diskutieren + Nachforschen ein.
PROJEKTOR versteht die Kunsthochschule dabei als lebendigen Organismus kultureller Produktion – als Ort, an dem Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft miteinander in Dialog treten. Als offenes und erweiterbares Modellprojekt schafft es eine nachhaltige Infrastruktur für kulturelle Bildung, Wissensvermittlung und öffentliche Teilhabe.
