The HAUS DER TRANSFORMATION (House of Transformation, HDT) is intended to provide a spatial basis for all student sustainability, future and creative initiatives at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences (HTW).
Based on the findings of a participatory process consisting of workshops and surveys and the project goals jointly developed in the team, the HAUS DER TRANSFORMATION is to be concretely planned and built as a building.
In addition to the needs and desired functions documented in the workshops, the focus of the planning should be on the holistic, sustainable use of resources. As a forward-looking, innovative project in the field of circular design, construction and management, the HDT is intended to take on an impulse function and thereby serve as a teaching example and research basis for practically applied ecological, social and economic sustainability.
The HDT provides a spatial and organizational home for all sustainability initiatives of HTW students. It is a place for meeting, exchanging ideas, and working together for experiments, visions, and innovations – transdisciplinary and communicative. Future-proof, adaptable, and integrated into cycles, it serves as an ambassador for socio-ecological transformation. Radically sustainable.
Radically Sustainable
The HDT is a flagship project for sustainable construction and economics. The construction is built to a maximum from reused and reusable materials. Integrated into an energy, water, and resource system, site-specific synergies are utilized, thus saving resources.
Transdisciplinary
Transdisciplinary, the HDT links transdisciplinary and future-oriented sustainability initiatives, serving as a real laboratory and exemplary model, embodying the spirit and values of socio-ecological transformation at HTW and beyond the campus.
Student-Managed
The HDT is 100% student-managed. The project is supported by professionals in design/architecture, sustainability planning, circular economy, and, of course, HTW itself.
A Campus for You
The HDT enhances the quality of stay on campus. Meeting points and interesting places for serendipitous discovery, informal exchange, and appropriation emerge, enabling identification and participation, while interfaces to the neighborhood are created. Decentralization and greening provide relaxation, shading, and a return to intact urban ecosystems.
POSITIF is part of the core team along with DOST ARCHITEKTUR, ANDREAS GEHRKE ARCHITEKTUR, the SUSTAINABLE DESIGN CENTER, CIRCULAR BERLIN, CIRCULAR STRUCTURAL DESIGN und CONCULAR and is allowed to accompany the forward-looking project conceptually and in terms of planning.

Das HAUS DER TRANSFORMATION (HDT) soll allen studentischen Nachhaltigkeits-, Zukunfts- und Kreativinitiativen an der Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft (HTW) Berlin eine räumliche Basis geben.
Basierend auf den Erkenntnissen eines aus Workshops und Umfragen bestehenden partizipativen Prozesses und den gemeinsamen im Team erarbeiteten Projektzielen, soll das HAUS DER TRANSFORMATION als Gebäude konkret geplant und gebaut werden.
Im Fokus der Planung sollen neben den in den Workshops dokumentierten Bedürfnissen und gewünschten Funktionen, der ganzheitliche, nachhaltige Einsatz von Ressourcen stehen. Das HDT soll als zukunftsweisendes, innovatives Projekt im Bereich des zirkulären Entwerfens, Bauens und Bewirtschaftens eine Impulsfunktion einnehmen und dabei als Lehrbeispiel und Forschungsgrundlage für praktisch angewandte ökologische, soziale und ökonomische Nachhaltigkeit dienen.
Das HDT gibt allen Nachhaltigkeitsinitiativen der Studierenden der HTW eine räumliche und organisatorische Heimat. Es ist ein Ort zum Treffen, Austauschen und gemeinsam Arbeiten, für Experimente, Visionen und Innovationen – transdisziplinär und kommunikativ. Zukunftsfähig, adaptierbar und integriert in Kreisläufe, ist es Botschafter der sozial-ökologischen Transformation. Radikal nachhaltig.
Radikal nachhaltig
Das HDT ist ein Leuchtturmprojekt für nachhaltiges Bauen und Wirtschaften. Der Bau wird zu einem Maximum aus wiederverwendeten und wiederverwendbaren Materialien realisiert. Eingebunden in ein Energie-, Wasser- und Rohstoffsystem werden ortsspezifische Synergien genutzt und damit Ressourcen gespart.
Transdisziplinär
Transdisziplinär verknüpft das HDT transdisziplinäre und maßstäblich zukunfts- und nachhaltigkeitsinitiativen, ist Reallabor und Anschauungsbeispiel und verkörpert den Geist und die Werte der sozial-ökologischen Transformation an der HTW und über den Campus hinaus.
Studentisch verwaltet
Das HDT ist zu 100% studentisch verwaltet. Unterstützt wird das Projekt von Fachleuten aus Design/Architektur, Nachhaltigkeitsplanung, Kreislaufwirtschaft und natürlich der HTW selbst.
Ein Campus für dich
Das HDT erhöht die Aufenthaltsqualität auf dem Campus. Treffpunkte und interessante Orte des zufälligen Entdeckens, des informellen Austauschs und der Aneignung entstehen, Identifikation und Teilhabe wird ermöglicht und Schnittstellen zum Quartier geschaffen. Entsiegelung und Begrünung sorgen für Erholung, Beschattung und eine Rückkehr zu intakten urbanen Ökosystemen.
POSITIF ist neben DOST ARCHITEKTUR, ANDREAS GEHRKE ARCHITEKTUR, dem SUSTAINABLE DESIGN CENTER, CIRCULAR BERLIN, CIRCULAR STRUCTURAL DESIGN und CONCULAR Teil des Kernteams und darf das zukunftsweisende Projekt konzeptionell und planerisch begleiten.
